Description
The PiicoDev RFID Module reads 13.56 MHz RFID/NFC tags and can read or write compatible tag memory. It is the exact reader named by the Meow Meow Scratch Pi RFID Attendance project.
Compatibility
- Works with supported NTAG213, NTAG203 and MIFARE Classic-style tags; it is not a general-purpose reader for every NFC card or secure payment credential.
- Connects to Raspberry Pi through the PiicoDev Adapter for Raspberry Pi and a PiicoDev cable.
- Selectable I²C addresses 0x2C through 0x2F support up to four modules.
- Runs on the 3.3 V PiicoDev bus and is compatible with Qwiic/STEMMA QT wiring at 3.3 V.
Attendance systems should store only the minimum required identifier data and include a manual fallback. Core lists a typical read range around 26 mm, which varies with tag and mounting.
