Description
This sealed DS18B20 digital temperature probe is the waterproof sensor used by the Raspberry Pi temperature-probe project. Each probe has a unique ID, so one or more can share the same 1-Wire data pin.
Project compatibility
- Power the probe from 3.3 V and connect data to GPIO4.
- Add the required 4.7 kΩ pull-up resistor between data and 3.3 V; it is not included with the probe.
- Additional DS18B20 probes can connect in parallel on the same bus.
Before wiring
Wire colours can differ between production batches, so verify the seller’s current pinout before applying power. The metal probe is sealed for wet environments, but keep cable joins and the Raspberry Pi enclosure dry. The PVC cable should not be used at the sensor’s full silicon temperature limit.
