Hi-Link HLK-LD2410B 24 GHz mmWave Presence Sensor

An HLK-LD2410B 24 GHz presence radar with UART output for the Raspberry Pi presence-radar project.

Description

The Hi-Link HLK-LD2410B detects both moving and relatively still people using 24 GHz mmWave radar. Its UART data stream matches the Raspberry Pi presence-radar project’s LD2410 protocol parser.

Project compatibility

  • Requires a stable 5 V supply capable of at least 200 mA.
  • Uses 3.3 V UART logic at 256000 baud; cross sensor TX/RX to the Pi’s RX/TX.
  • Supports the engineering-mode frames used by the guide.

Before wiring

The module uses a fine-pitch connector rather than ordinary 2.54 mm Dupont spacing. Add a suitable 1.27 mm-to-2.54 mm cable or adapter, or solder leads carefully. Tune distance gates after mounting because walls, fans and reflective movement can produce detections.
