HiLetgo ADS1115 16-Bit 4-Channel I²C ADC Breakout

A 3.3 V-compatible ADS1115 breakout with four 16-bit analog channels, programmable gain, and I²C connectivity for Raspberry Pi sensor projects. Pin header included; soldering required.

Description

This HiLetgo breakout adds four 16-bit analog input channels to a Raspberry Pi over I²C. It is the standard ADS1115 layout used by the Meow Meow Scratch battery monitor, chair sensor, energy clamp, flex sensor, joystick, and noise monitor projects.

Why it fits these projects

  • Raspberry Pi-safe supply: power VDD from the Pi’s 3.3 V pin so the I²C bus and analog input limit match the project wiring.
  • Four single-ended inputs: labelled A0–A3, including the A0 and A1 connections used across the guides.
  • 16-bit ADS1115 with programmable gain: supports the gain settings and up-to-860-samples-per-second mode used for sensor and audio-envelope measurements.
  • Default I²C address: the usual 0x48 address is available, matching the guides’ i2cdetect checks.

Important setup notes

The supplied pin header is not pre-soldered. Solder the header before using the board with a breadboard or Dupont jumper wires. Never let an analog input exceed the board’s VDD voltage. Battery-monitor projects still require the specified voltage divider; powering the ADC at 3.3 V does not make a direct 9 V or 12 V input safe.
