Description
The PiicoDev Air Quality Sensor uses an ENS160 multi-gas sensor to report indoor air-quality metrics including AQI, total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) and equivalent CO₂ (eCO₂). It is the exact module named by the Meow Meow Scratch Pi Air Quality project.
Compatibility
- Connects to a Raspberry Pi through the PiicoDev Adapter for Raspberry Pi and a PiicoDev cable; a 100 mm or longer cable is practical for the first module.
- Uses I²C address 0x53 by default, with 0x52 available via the address switch.
- PiicoDev connectors are compatible with Qwiic and STEMMA QT at 3.3 V.
Important setup notes
The ENS160 needs an initial start-up period of up to one hour and, after it has accumulated sufficient operating time, a shorter warm-up of about three minutes after power-up. Readings during warm-up are less reliable. This sensor estimates equivalent CO₂ from gas measurements; it is not a direct NDIR CO₂ sensor.
Included here: sensor module only. Raspberry Pi, PiicoDev adapter and cable are separate. Merchant availability and specifications can change.
