PiicoDev Buzzer Module

The current PiicoDev buzzer module used by Pi Doorbell for close-range beeps, tones and simple melodies.

Description

The PiicoDev Buzzer Module produces programmable tones and simple melodies over I²C. It is the exact current module named by the Meow Meow Scratch Pi Doorbell project.

Compatibility

  • Connects to Raspberry Pi through the PiicoDev Adapter for Raspberry Pi and a PiicoDev cable.
  • Runs at 3.3 V and uses I²C address 0x5C by default.
  • Hardware ID switches and software addressing support multiple modules.
  • PiicoDev connectors are compatible with Qwiic and STEMMA QT at 3.3 V.

Choose it for feedback, not a siren

This module is suited to close-range feedback, notifications and melodies. Core Electronics notes that it is relatively quiet, so it is not a substitute for a loud alarm or outdoor doorbell sounder.

Included here: current buzzer module only; do not confuse it with the separate older “v1.0” listing.
