Why this is a compatibility-specific option
The Raspberry Pi 4 is the safer documented board choice for our current WS2812B guides that use the rpi_ws281x library. Do not substitute a Raspberry Pi 5 for those guides until their LED-driving code has been migrated and tested on Pi 5 hardware.
Before buying
- LED strips, sensors and breadboard parts are not included.
- Longer LED strips require their own regulated 5V supply; do not power them through the Raspberry Pi.
- Core Electronics may substitute the power-supply colour or heatsink style, as noted on its listing.
