Description
The PiicoDev Laser Distance Sensor uses a VL53L1X time-of-flight sensor to measure distance with millimetre-scale output at ranges up to about four metres. It is the exact module named by the Meow Meow Scratch Pi Laser Tape project.
Compatibility
- Connects to Raspberry Pi through the PiicoDev Adapter for Raspberry Pi and a PiicoDev cable.
- Uses I²C address 0x29 and operates from the 3.3 V PiicoDev bus.
- PiicoDev connectors are compatible with Qwiic and STEMMA QT at 3.3 V.
Measurement notes
Best performance is generally indoors. Target reflectivity, ambient light and measurement mode affect usable range and accuracy. The module may arrive with protective film over the optical window; remove it before accurate ranging.
