Description
This matched 3mm infrared emitter and receiver pair is the sensor type required by the Meow Meow Scratch Pi People Counter. The receiver has an open-collector output that works with the Raspberry Pi’s internal pull-up.
Quantity and wiring
- The project needs two complete pairs to determine direction, so order quantity two.
- Operating range is approximately 25cm under suitable alignment and lighting.
- Supply range is 3.3–5.5V. Follow the guide’s Raspberry Pi-safe wiring and common ground.
- The receiver output is pulled low while the beam is present and released when the beam is broken.
