Description
This Interlink 402-style force-sensitive resistor is a practical match for the Raspberry Pi chair-sensor project. Its resistance falls as pressure increases, letting the project detect occupancy through an ADS1115 analogue input.
Project compatibility
- Build the guide’s voltage divider with a 10 kΩ resistor.
- Power the divider from 3.3 V and connect its midpoint to ADS1115 channel A0.
- The sensor has no polarity.
Before wiring
An FSR is best for presence and relative-force thresholds, not accurate weight measurement. Protect the active area from sharp edges, do not crease the tail, and calibrate the software with the sensor installed in its final position.
