Description
The GlowBit Matrix 8×8 is the exact 64-pixel addressable RGB display named by the Meow Meow Scratch Pi Thermal Camera project. It uses modern WS2812B-compatible LEDs and Core Electronics’ Raspberry Pi Python library.
Power and wiring
- Connect DIN to GPIO18 as shown in the guide.
- The module accepts 3.3–5V supply and 2.7V-or-higher logic.
- Maximum current is about 2.3A; use an adequate 5V external supply for high brightness.
- The project’s low default brightness greatly reduces typical current, but never design from the low-brightness estimate alone.
- Header pins or wires require soldering.
