Description
The DFRobot DFR1221 combines an ESP32-S3R8, a 1.85-inch 360×360 capacitive touchscreen, 8MB PSRAM, 16MB flash, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE in a round development board. Pi Meowagotchi Controls turns it into a six-segment remote for feed, play, pet, clean, nap and wake actions.
Why it fits Pi Meowagotchi
- DFR1221 is the exact board targeted by the pi-meowagotchi-controls repository.
- The large round touch surface supports six care controls and a central status hub.
- Wi-Fi lets the remote queue care requests in a private Meow Meow Scratch app for the Raspberry Pi to process.
Before buying
- This is the optional remote, not the Raspberry Pi or e-paper cat display.
- The project requires DFRobot’s DFR1221-specific MicroPython firmware and screen driver; stock generic ESP32-S3 MicroPython firmware is not a substitute.
- The DFR1221 has no built-in accelerometer. Shake-to-play requires a separately wired I2C LIS3DH.
- A USB-C data connection, Wi-Fi and a Meow Meow Scratch app-scoped key are required for setup and operation.
- Price, availability and package contents can change. Check the retailer listing before ordering.
