Description
This is an HC-SR501 passive-infrared motion module matching both the Raspberry Pi motion-logger and security-camera projects.
Project compatibility
- Power VCC from the Pi’s 5 V rail and connect ground.
- The OUT signal is suitable for the guide’s 3.3 V GPIO input on GPIO17.
- Onboard controls adjust detection sensitivity and retrigger delay.
Before wiring
Allow roughly 60 seconds for the PIR sensor to stabilise after power-up. Heat sources, sunlight, moving curtains and unstable power can cause false triggers. Confirm the module’s jumper mode and tune both trimmers before final mounting.
