Adafruit INA219 High-Side Current Sensor Breakout

An INA219 I²C breakout for measuring bus voltage and current in the Raspberry Pi power-monitor project.

Description

This INA219 breakout measures high-side current and bus voltage for the Raspberry Pi power-monitor project.

Project compatibility

  • Connect VCC to the Pi’s 3.3 V rail and communicate over I²C.
  • Place the screw-terminal current path in series with the positive side of the load being measured.
  • The standard board measures buses up to 26 V and currents around ±3.2 A with its onboard shunt.

Before wiring

Never place the current terminals directly across a power supply; the monitored current must flow through the shunt in series. Respect the module, wire and connector current limits. The terminal block and header may require soldering.
