Description
This u-blox NEO-6M module with ceramic patch antenna matches the UART GPS receiver used by the Raspberry Pi GPS-tracker project.
Project compatibility
- The module supports 3.3–5 V power; follow the project’s 3.3 V connection unless your exact board documentation specifies otherwise.
- Cross the UART lines: module TX to Pi RX, and module RX to Pi TX.
- The guide expects the common default rate of 9600 baud.
Before wiring
NEO-6M boards vary, so confirm the printed pin labels and supply requirements before power-up. A first position fix can take several minutes and normally requires a clear outdoor view of the sky; it may not acquire reliably indoors.
