Description
This MAX4466 electret microphone amplifier produces the analogue signal required by the Raspberry Pi noise-monitor project. It pairs with the project’s ADS1115 ADC rather than connecting directly to a Pi GPIO input.
Project compatibility
- Power it from 3.3 V so its biased analogue output remains appropriate for the project’s ADC setup.
- Connect OUT to ADS1115 channel A0 and share ground with the Pi and ADC.
- The onboard trimmer adjusts amplifier gain.
Before wiring
This module measures sound level, not calibrated sound-pressure level, without a reference meter and calibration step. Begin with moderate gain to avoid clipping. The supplied header normally needs soldering.
