Description
This Adafruit AMG8833 breakout provides the 8×8 infrared temperature array used by the Raspberry Pi thermal-camera project.
Project compatibility
- Provides 64 thermal pixels at up to 10 frames per second.
- Wire VIN to 3.3 V and use I²C; the project expects address
0x69by default. - The address can differ if the board’s address setting has been changed, so scan the I²C bus if it is not detected.
Before wiring
This is a low-resolution thermal array, not a conventional camera. It is useful for heat maps and presence-like experiments, but not identification or precise medical temperature measurement. Header soldering or a compatible STEMMA QT cable may be required.
